The audiences at Cannes seem to be rather vicious this year. Anyone who heard the early buzz on The DaVinci Code knows what I'm talking about. Fortunately for Kevin Smith, he escaped the Clerks II premier unscathed. It seems the biggest problem encountered was not being able to escape an adoring crowd to sneak outside and smoke.

I really enjoy Smith's work, especially Dogma. But I was not looking forward to this film at all. However, the buzz is so good that I've changed my mind. Perhaps the big guy still has the magic touch after all.
