Recycling chartjunk as junk art
POSTED ON 4/20/2006 | PERMALINK |0 Comments | BOOKMARK

Edward Tufte has declared chartjunk as an enemy of clear, informative graphics of data. Chartjunk is everywhere, particularly in mainstream media.
This is superb site for so many reasons. It provides useful criticism for those who visualize data for a living. It analyzes the purely visual and artistic elements of the medium. And it's kind of fun, too. The uninitiated should use this blog as a stepping-stone to deciphering the maze of information often found in print media. Even those who glance at charts like these every day could probably stand to give these particular reading comprehension skills a workout.
