twit: terrible week in terrible

BOOKMARK
This week's episode of TWIT was just plain awful. I had to turn it off. Not even Dvorak could reign this one in. They just rambled on and on and on about nothing. Apparently, I'm not the only individual who was disappointed. There's a poll over at the TWIT site where you can voice your opinion on the episode.
This wasn't just the usual "we-were-all-on-techtv" crew giving each other blowjobs instead of providing thoughtful commentary. That element, which is always on the verge of ruining each episode, was present. This was something new. The problem here is that these guys, who already have almost no expert knowledge of the things they opine about, just aimlessly chat about the first thing that pops into their heads...for the entire show!
And poor John Dvorak couldn't even hold this one together. He is usually able to keep the others in line, but nobody was really listening this time. I know it's Leo's show, but Dvorak is the only guy who can helm this project. He's also the only person who really has any idea what he's talking about and who has the humility to acknowledge when he doesn't.
It is sad, but not even remotely surprising, that TWIT has come to this. Fortunately, in the world of podcasting, TWIT can opt to meet the demands of its fans or continue on its current path. There's room for 100 competitors to create a better show if they continue on in this fashion. I'll be tuning in next week to see what happens.

Totally agree! I listened to that disaster on the way into work, and you could almost hear the frustration on Dvorak's voice.
Gillmor Gang isn't much better. It's all about my Google is better than your Yahoo and other vendor sports.
Are there any good tech podcasts out there?
