West Wing Episode Predicts Miers/Rove/Dobson Fiasco

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Arlen Specter said he wants to know whether presidential adviser Karl Rove privately assured a conservative activist of how Supreme Court nominee Harriet Miers would rule on the court. This whole scenario is strangely similar to last night's episode of The West Wing, in which a religious leader is promised an anti-choice judge--off the record--by a republican presidential candidate. The religious leader than leaks the information and the candidate denies he made the promise.
Specter, a Pennsylvania Republican, said he will would look into a statement by James Dobson, president of the Colorado Springs, Colorado-based advocacy group Focus on the Family, that Dobson has had ``conversations'' with Rove about the woman nominated to replace retiring Justice Sandra Day O'Connor and knows things about Miers ``that I probably shouldn't know.''
Is this Bush Administration that predictable? Yes. Yes it is.

I've had this secret fantasy for awhile that I'd go to sleep and when I woke up I'd find The West Wing was actually real.
This wasn't quite what I had in mind...
hehe. that is so true. i know *exactly* what you are talking about.
it's such a good show...but the deam may be turning into a nightmare.
it's why those "bartlett for president" bumperstickers were so popular...
Wow! Now if only we could get some of the press to ask tough questions like in the West Wing!
