Galleon 1.5 Features Enhanced GlitchTV Functionality
POSTED ON 9/16/2005 | PERMALINK |0 Comments | BOOKMARK
The newest release of the Galleon software for TiVo features support for videocasting, including GlitchTV. While other video services are listed as well, GlitchTV is still the only one that features video exclusively for TiVo. Other programming will still have to go through a lengthy transcoding process. That said, the end-user transcoding is a welcome feature.
The Videocasting app allows you to subscribe to videocasts and videoblogs. The app provides a list of directories of OPML and RSS feeds of video content. The app will automatically download the video files of subscribed feeds and will remove old files that have been played when new files become available.

It's very exciting to see a new, enhanced avenue for GlitchTV distribution. Galleon is remaking TiVo in its own image, and its exciting to see GlitchTV in the screenshots. Of course, videocasting is just part of the enhanced functionality of Galleon. Galleon Learn about GlitchTV Subscribe to GlitchTV

UPDATE: SADLY, GLITCHTV IS NOT INCLUDED BY DEFAULT (AGAIN, DESPITE IT BEING THE ONLY TIVO-ENABLED FEED AVAILABLE ON THE NET). OF COURSE, THAT DOESN'T MEAN YOU CAN'T ADD IT YOURSELF.
