R.I.P. Bob Moog
POSTED ON 8/22/2005 | PERMALINK |2 Comments | BOOKMARK
Bob's family has announced the formation of The Bob Moog Foundation for the advancement of electronic music.

Many of his long time collaborators, including musicians, engineers and educators have agreed to sit on its executive board including David Borden, Wendy Carlos, Joel Chadabe, John Eaton, David Mash, and Rick Wakeman. For more information about this contact Bob's son, Matthew Moog, by email - mattmoog@yahoo.com.

Meeting Bob is one of those moments I'll always treasure (and brag about). He was a very nice man and will live on in the warm, soulful, colorful equipment he created and in the music he inspired.

Thanks for everything, Bob.

Bob Moog was the man. Billy Joel said in an interview that he wrote his Root Beer Rag only because he had purchased a new Moog synth and wanted to play with all the cool sounds. Useless trivia? You bet! (Mopsa rules!)

Moog Cookbook was also always good for a larf. Check 'em out if you haven't already.

G'night Bob!
