Keith Haring's Pop Shop To Close
POSTED ON 8/05/2005 | PERMALINK |1 Comments | BOOKMARK
"In 1986, New York artist Keith Haring opened the Pop Shop in downtown Manhattan. Haring saw the Pop Shop as an extension of his work, a fun boutique where his art could be accessible to everyone. Today, the Pop Shop continues to be a downtown attraction with floor-to-ceiling murals and affordable clothing and gift items all featuring Keith Haring's unique icons."

They're closing in September. That's too bad. I'm going to have to stop in before they're gone.

I am proud to say I bought a poster and a couple greeting cards there a few years ago. The poster is sitting in its tube still, but that's beside the point.

Lafayette Street will be sad to see you go.
